Wildland mastication (also known as forestry mulching or shredding) is a mechanical vegetation management technique that uses specialized machinery to grind, chop, or shred understory brush and small trees into small pieces. It converts unwanted vegetation and hazardous materials into a layer of surface mulch, improving habitat and land use opportunities.

FAE RCU120
The FAE RCU120 is the equipment that helps Rough Cut turn difficult terrain into workable ground. This remote controlled tracked carrier is built for steep slopes, challenging access, and demanding vegetation management, with the ability to operate on inclines up to 55 degrees and process material up to 8 inches in diameter at production rate. Its combination of power, maneuverability, and precision makes it ideal for defensible space work, utility corridors, and access route clearing. With specialized equipment like this, Rough Cut can tackle projects that would be difficult, unsafe, or inefficient with traditional methods.
